Suggestion: add a lever to each power-up to let players to toggle whether or not they pick up that resource.  That would allow staying out longer when you are getting closer to maxing out your stats.

When I try to launch the game using the Itch launcher in linux (PopOS/Ubuntu 22.04), I only get a black screen.  When I bring up the dev tools console using <CTRL-SHIFT-F12>, I get the following error messages:

=========================================================
- Uncaught SyntaxError: Invalid or unexpected token
- Temp Build.loader.js:1 Unable to parse Build/Temp Build.framework.js.gz! This can happen if build compression was enabled but web server hosting the content was misconfigured to not serve the file with HTTP Response Header "Content-Encoding: gzip" present. Check browser Console and Devtools Network tab to debug.
- DevTools failed to load source map: Could not load content for itch-cave://game.itch/app/bin/resources/app/dist/main/inject-game.bundle.js.map: HTTP error: status code 404, net::ERR_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE_FAILURE

There is also the following issue:

todo:

- make it so you can convert other useless materials into materials you want. (like red gems which don't matter once HP is max)
- give the player a Heal "upgrade" that just restores their hearts. Have it use red gems or something
- add another level to the AOE upgrade to make it cover a crazy big area
- On later depths, the "mining speed" resource stops appearing, making it a little painful to get it fully upgraded
- Add a proper "this is the actual ending" screen so players don't keep playing, searching for more that isn't there
- Scale the backpack upgrade to be more significant at higher levels. By the end, my backpack was still filling up way too soon

pretty enjoyable though so far

can you add like an esc screen and a save button

Refreshed page and the progress reset.

This game doesn't seem to be launching through the itch.io client? when i launch it, it's just a blank screen

same issue

Having progress reset if you leave the page then come back is super bad. I have my browser's Back button bound to one of my side mouse buttons and twice I accidentally clicked it, only to come back and find I had to start all over again.

That's true, but it's a rudimentary game anyway

Looks like a great game. I would recommend some changes to make it less frustrating:
- bats don't instantly home in on you, but instead stand still for 1 (maybe 2) seconds and then come after you. This gives you some time to react to them when they're right on the other side of the wall you just destroyed.
- be able to heal up when going back into your ship
- make it impossible to spawn falling rocks on top of you, especially if you stand still. Might not be as frustrating if you're able to heal up in some other way then dieing.

Please make a full game out of this. Make a story. Require upgrading the drill the deeper you go so that there is another layer of complexity. Make the interior of the drill bigger or a 2nd level of the interior that allows you to decorate it like a house. i would gladly pay $15-20 for a full game with this theme.

Edit: just spent an hour or so playing so much fun would play again.

Very good game! If this ever gets an update, please add a way to refill your health at the ship

Grinding everything on the first layer was 100% worth it

Yeah agreed

This was a lovely way to spend my afternoon! I crave the mines, and this had a lovely combination of low-risk environments and satisfying diggy noises. I can't believe you made this in three days! No bugs in sight.

nice game

bug: enemy does not raycast through dead player's inventory

I got to the go back again crystal :D

I really enjoyed this game! I did keep going after it "ended" for a good while, after reaching the bottom yet again and again I kept telling myself there might be someone else stuck down there. So I kept going and going until eventually I was fully convinced it was truly done. All that to say, it's a wonderful game. It would make an amazing base for a longer game in my opinion. Harder enemies, more people to rescue, higher levels for the upgrades, different ore as you get lower, etc. For something created in three days, it's absolutely incredible. I will absolutely come back now and again to play through!

This game was amazing. I just spent an hour and a half playing through it. Was satisfying. The slow pace waiting for that build up made the build up as enjoyable as I was hoping. I'd give this a solid 10/10. Cute characters, great graphics, solid loop!

3 DAYS FOR THIS MASTERPIECE !? It was an awesome experience

All in all a very nice little game. Ramps up very quickly and is great fun for the duration, which is about 20 minutes.

Amazing game!!! Super well polished, I can't believe this was made in 3 days. I like how unlike most games like this there was no energy meter and instead a pretty large bag size that could be upgraded to a lot more, it makes the game a lot more fun and relaxing than others like it. I like how the closely colored types of rock had distinct different shapes making it much easier to tell the difference instead of spending a lot of rock making the wrong mineral. I also like that you can pick up your previous backpack once you die, it made the game feel more risk-free and contributed to it being a very relaxing game. You should definitely keep developing this!

Starts pretty slow. Grows into quite the engine. Interesting for a jam.

I had fun trying this out. "Mouse movement" is missing from the control list, but I was bound to find it. In its current form, the game is already compatible with hundreds of controllers. You could end up being tempted to include Xbox plug-in-play functionality, but the game doesn't need it. I would love to see an EXE version.

Pretty cool. Could use faster/continuous resource conversion and ability to heal (not for free).

This game is absolutely incredible. I really really hope it gets developed into something even bigger

Absolutely great, 11 out of 10, i really loved it :D

You guys are so inspirational, I can't believe this was made for a gamejam!! It feels so polished already. This game is so fun, I really enjoy it. Would totally play a full version on Steam!! I really like this gameplay loop.

5/5 game, really surprised this was done in just 3 days.

The only minor thing to point out is that you should put a message or a "You win" screen once you reach the bottom floor.
